Actress and Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra recently unveiled her newest project: Sona, an Indian restaurant opening later this month in New York.

The restaurant is Chopra’s newest venture after releasing her own vegan and eco-friendly haircare line Anomaly, back in January.

The starlet took to Instagram to announce the news and posted a picture of an intimate prayer ceremony she performed with her mother and husband, singer Nick Jonas, in September 2019, to bless the space before she began working on it.

“SONA is opening later this month, and I can’t wait to see you there! This endeavour would not have been possible without the leadership of my friends Maneesh Goyal and David Rabin. Thank you to our designer Melissa Bowers and the rest of the team for realizing this vision so clearly,” said Chopra in her Instagram post.

The actress teamed up with Chef Hari Nayak to bring her vision to life and create a menu inspired by flavours she grew up with, paying homage to India’s rich cultural heritage.

Chef Nayak gained international recognition for his modern Indian cuisine and opened a series of successful businesses across the world such as Masti in Dubai, Jhol in Bangkok and Charcoza in Riyadh.
